STRUCTURAL DESCRIPTION:
1 1/2 story, 3x3 bay house w/1x4 wing in rear. Right gable end entrance facing
Main St. Stone foundation, clapboards, fascia, cornerboards. Metal gable roof
has a fairly steep pitch. Two interior end half chimneys. Entrance: Full arched
sidelights flank a 4-panel door. Recessed 6" and framed in heavy 6x6
surrounds. Windows are original 6/6 in plain surrounds. There are three
kneewall windows on the north facade (left one is closed). A bay window was
added to the north facade in 1979. There is a shed screen porch on the south
eaves side of the wing that was added in C. 1950. A vertical plank, 1-story
frame horse barn is situated west of the house. Gable end front with two
9-light windows. Built in C. 1850 by H. Stearns, this vernacular structure was
sold to G. Russ in 1869.
