COMMON NAME: McArdle House
ADDITIONAL ARCHITECTURAL OR STRUCTURAL DESCRIPTION:
1 1/2 story, 4 x 2 bay, early
vernacular structure w/a federal influenced entrance and a one-story, 4 x 2 bay
wing on the northwest side.
Cornerboards, stone foundation, asphalt shingle-covered roof. The weatherboard siding replaces original
clapboards. Molded cornice has a
shallow overhang and returns at gables.
The entrance is located right of center on the eaves front. Narrow paneled pilasters rise through the
frieze to carry a thin molded cornice board above Christian door. Windows are 2/2 in plain surrounds on the
first story. There are smaller windows
in kneewall, as was original, but the openings appear to have been slightly
changed.
