Post by: Henry on September 18, 2010, 07:26:43 AM
St. Albans police are investigating the theft of a generator that was recovered Sept. 8 from a sidewalk on Lake Street. Police were responding to an alarm at the Lake Street courthouse when officers noticed a generator on the sidewalk.

A witness said that moments before, two men had removed the generator from the back of a truck, started to carry it east on Lake Street, then dropped it and fled when they saw police, authorities said. The suspects were described as white men, one wearing a white shirt, the other a black shirt. Police identified the owner of the generator, and it was returned to him. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the St. Albans Police Department at 524-2166.
