Title: Herb Webb Passes Away

HERBERT H. WEBB ST. ALBANS - Herbert Harry Webb, 84, passed away Monday evening, Aug. 28, 2006, in Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born on Dec. 2, 1921, in Fairfax, son of the late Herbert and Betsy (Powers) Webb. Herbert was a dedicated dairy farmer for many years. Following retirement he drove bus for BFA Fairfax for over 10 years. He was proud to have been a founding member of the Fairfax Fire Department. He was a member of the Lamoille Lodge 6, F. &A.M. of Fairfax. Herbert enjoyed reading and fishing, and especially looked forward to hunting rabbits with his loyal dog “Duke.“ He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He is survived by, his three sons, Roland Webb and wife Joan of Swanton, Bruce Webb and wife Martha of Fletcher, Samuel Webb and wife Tracy of Swanton; son -in-law Thomas Barnes of Highgate Springs; two brothers, Arthur Webb and wife Margaret of Fairfax, George Kemp and wife Beverly of Highgate Center; his sister, Mabel Benoit and husband Fernand of Brandon; many grandchildren, several greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Jessie (Ryan) Webb on April 25, 1985; daughter Betsy Barnes in 1993; grandson Roland Webb II; sister Phyllis Maxfield; and brother-in-law, Walter Maxfield. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, August 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home, Fairfax Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m. in the United Church of Fairfax with the Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Fairfax Plains Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Herbert's memory may be made to a fire department of your choice or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Mass. 01701.
