Hi All,
Well, this could be the last year for a couple of this week’s annual events.
The Annual Lawn And Bake Sale at St. Luke’s will be held this Saturday, September 9, 2006. Year after year, Mike Cross & Jean Groseclose have taken on the chairmanship of this work intensive event with the help of many dedicated parishioners.

Not only the work involved in cleaning and pricing the items that are received over a 3-day period, on the 4th day the actual sale occurs and then all of the items not sold have to be disposed of.
To see just how much work must be involved, check out the items at last years Lawn & Bake Sale by clicking on the following link:

The Knights of Columbus Council 10830 of Fairfax will sponsor a children's Carnival and Chicken Barbeque at St. Luke Church in Fairfax to benefit Sr. Cecile Smith's mission to the Dominican Republic on Sunday, September 10th from 12 noon until 2pm. The dinner is take out only, with picnicing available on the church grounds weather permitting. The chickens will be prepared by Bill Blair, already famous for the Fairfax 4th of July Barbecue. Meals will include half a succulent barbequed chicken made with the Blair BBQ secret sauce, cole slaw, roll and cookie. The price is $8 per meal, and kids and those with small appetites could easily split a meal.
The Children's Carnival will have games galore for the youngsters with plenty of prizes and a dunking booth. Admission to the carnival is $3 per child, maximum $10 per family. Hot dogs and drinks will be available at the carnival.
For reservations for the BBQ, please email petefitz@hughes.net
Although some meals will be available at the door, only those with reservations will be assured of a meal. Come have fun with your children and enjoy a great BBQ chicken meal.
It is hoped that this will be less labor intensive than the Lawn & Bake Sale.
