Photo Blog

Henry has pictures posted elsewhere on the forum, but I had to stop down and take some different angles.
Impressive, to say the least.

Thanks Mike,

I am having Mary Kay pick up some prints down at Costco of the ones I took and also some that JoAnne took.  Mildred is in hopes that her Home Owners will help her cover some of the costs and photos certainly won't hurt.

That is just crazy.

That tree is how old yet the roots were not into the ground deep enough?
Must be some hard sub surface there in that area.
Was there an area just cleared recently that protected that tree from winds?
Recently = past 15 years.

Roots grow only as deep as they need to.
I learned that up in Palmer.
We cleared the area for the store site and exposed a swath of birch and spruce trees that were protected from the high winds buy the trees and foliage we removed.
They toppled and broke when we had high winds and they had no buffer.
Stoopid Humans.

Amazing what we don't think about when buying or building a home.
Water table, sub surface, etc etc.

Ya learn something NEW everyday........
