Title: The Criminal Mind
Post by: Chris Santee on January 08, 2011, 03:03:56 PM
On January 5, 2011 Vermont State Police were called to the Farmway store in Bradford to investigate a suspicious incident.
State Police learned that a sixteen year old male was attempting to return a pair of boots that had been stolen from the store on December 17, 2010.
State Police learned that he was returning the boots as a request by his mother.
Security personnel at the store recovered a picture from December 17, 2010 in which a woman had left the store with close to $200.00 in merchandise without paying for it.
The sixteen year old identified the woman in the picture as his mother.
The shoplifter was identified of Canaan, NH and was cited into Orange County Superior Court on March 2, 2011 to answer the charge of Retail Theft (greater than $100.00).
This was a felony charge due to the amount of merchandise stolen being greater than $100.00.

That poor kid. From the timing of events, it sounds like he tried to return a Christmas gift.

It said he was returning the boots as a request from his mother--it probably wasn't his gift. I feel bad for him getting caught in the middle if he didn't know or even if he did. It was his mother who stole the stuff and unless they purposely planned it out together, the kid is a victim of his mother's crime. Then again, who knows...:P
