Maybe the St. Albans Police now have a photo of him for future reference.

Chris, I did not see a mention of a bike anywhere? There has been a guy riding a bike all winter down River rd and sometimes I see him on 104 going up the hill towards the post office. Perhaps that is him?
-
I saw some guy pushing a bike, looked like he was collecting empties.
First time I saw him was north of 104A
and the second time was near the pharmacy (wrong direction).
I was just wondering if he was the guy.
I guess not.

Messimer has said he leaves home because he wants to get away from his family, Burnham said.
It seems there is something wrong with this picture. No one seems to be questioning the fact that this man escaped from his caregivers twice in the same month or asking why he wants to "get away from his family." Just because he has a traumatic brain injury, suffers from some memory loss, some cognitive issues, and needs 24/7 supervision for his own safety, doesn't mean he isn't aware of his own feelings or that he's stupid!
Maybe I'm wrong, because I don't know this man's baseline behaviors, but also there is no way to know if he is being mistreated in ways that don't present itself physically. Taking care of such an adult (or child even) is difficult and stressful even for the saints among us. We don't know if Mr. Messimer's family has any respite, which they need! He could be verbally/emotionally abused and just wants to get away--why is he hiding in abandoned buildings?
It seems like this family needs some help. I hope someone in a position to do that sees it also.
