Title: Giant Moon tonight!
Post by: Razzle Dazzle on March 19, 2011, 02:38:12 PM
The moon will be at its closest to the earth tonight.
It won't happen again until 2029.
Don't miss it!!!

The moon setting this morning was huge and almost orange in color. My pictures came out terrible so I hope others saw it and perhaps someone has a picture.

My photo did not come out great either - It looked round, but must be the way I held the camera, or my zoom which was as much as I could:

The moon I saw early in the evening (9-ish) didn't appear overly awe-inspiring to me. I felt I had seen a larger moon on a previous occasion as did others who were with me.

By the looks of the pix, it appears to have changed through the night.
