Title: Virginia (Robtoy) Riley Born In Fairfax, Dies At 81

East Fairfield – Virginia E. “Dukie” Riley, 81, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 23, 2011 at St. Albans Healthcare and Rehabilitation in St. Albans.

Virginia was born on January 29, 1930 in Fairfax, the daughter of Adelphis and Ruth (Ovitt) Robtoy.

During her working years, Dukie was employed at Giants Dept. Store for a few years and then at Ames Dept. Store for 25 years retiring in 1993. Dukie was a very caring and giving person who was ready to help anyone in need and always made her home in East Fairfield open to everyone. Her love of cooking made sure that no one went away hungry. She looked forward to her morning coffee with lifelong friends, Becky Stone & Donna Boucher. Most importantly she loved to spend time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She is survived by her children, Tonia Ryan of Norwich, CT, Cecil Riley and his friend Kim Willequer of Enosburg, Gloria Riley of East Fairfield, Dean Riley and his wife Laura of St. Albans, and Glenn Riley and his wife Nancy of Enosburg; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her siblings and their spouses, Adelphis Robtoy Jr of Brooklyn, CT, Wayne & Joan Robtoy of Enosburg, Gloria Metayer of Enosburg, Reginald & Joan Beverly Robtoy of Enosburg, Cordell & Marcella Robtoy of Franklin, CT, Philip & Linda Robtoy of Griswold, CT, Beulah & Randy King of Danielson, CT, and Graydon & Pauline Robtoy of North Providence, RI; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dukie was predeceased by her siblings, Ines Benway, Shirley Metayer, Ernest Robtoy and Cedric Robtoy.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 1-3 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. In keeping with Dukie’s wishes there will be no funeral service.
