Title: FAIRFAX COMMUNITY PARK PROGRESS

FAIRFAX COMMUNITY PARK PROGRESS

The Fairfax Community Park has made tremendous progress this year, as it nears completion.  The Recreation Path, although not as long as we all wanted, has become a reality.  Benches and picnic tables will be in before the end of the year.  Signs will be going in over the next couple months.  The fine gravel on the access roadway will be going in this spring 2007 (currently the access road has gravel that supports heavy construction equipment, not too good for biking and walking).   When all this is complete, we are planning to have a "Fairfax Community Park Grand Opening Ceremony" in early June 2007.   We'll be sure to give everyone advance notice of this celebration.

We are currently investigating the possibility of having an outdoor ice skating rink.  This will require volunteer oversight and a water source outside the town water system.  If you are interested in this project, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department as soon as possible at 849-9200 ext 2025 (or email cal100@educert.com).
