Local Artist Accepted to Louisiana Exhibit

A painting by Northwestern Vermont artist Harald Aksdal was one of 75 watercolor paintings selected for the 41st Annual International Watercolor Exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana.  The exhibit was juried by award-winning artist James Toogood, AWS, NWS, of New Jersey, and will run from May 7-27 at the Place St. Charles in New Orleans, with an opening reception on May 14.  Aksdal’s painting, “September,” was inspired by Franklin County, Vermont landscapes and will go into a private collection upon its return from Louisiana.  Aksdal’s work, both originals and prints, may be seen at the Village Frame Shoppe in St. Albans, Artist in Residence in Enosburg, and the Gruppé Gallery in Jericho.  His studio in Fairfax is open for visitors by appointment.

Wonderful painting Harold !!  That tree must have been what Robert Frost was thinking of when he wrote " that one could do worse then be a swinger of birches " !!!
Has it really been twenty years since you and Becky were prime supporters of the school , the town and BFA's administration ?? Time has surely flown and now you have a great second career , which obviously you do well with and which pleases many others .        And thanks for the post Henry & Chris .
