Title: Fairfax Metal Dumpster On Selectboard Meeting Agenda Monday Night
Post by: Henry on November 10, 2006, 09:02:40 AM
As most of you are aware, the Metal Dumpster will be removed on December 1, 2006, per a public notice I posted on the forum.  The Public Notice said that metal items may be recycled at their Hazardous Household Recycle Days in May & October.

I took some photos of the Dumpster with about 5 days worth of material and it was overflowing.  I have been told that some people leaving stuff there have been questioned as to their town of residence and even though the sign says Fairfax Residents Only, some patrons were from as far away as Alburgh.  If the truth be known, I believe a lot of stuff is coming from other towns.

I have been contacted by one resident who has an alternative suggestion to the removal of the Metal Dumpster and is on the agenda at the Selectboard Meeting this coming Monday night, November 13th at 7 p.m.  I have also spoken to one of the members of the Selectboard and they themselves have some alternative solutions, which I don’t know if they have covered all their bases on yet or not.

If you would like to listen to a resident’s alternative solution to the removal of the Dumpster or ask the Selectboard any questions, you should attend the Selectboard meeting this coming Monday night at the Fairfax Town Office at 7 p.m.[/b]
