Well, usually there are a few strawberries for my sister's birthday on June 15th. Drove over to Riverberry yesterday and the young people in the greenhouse told me they expect picking to start around July 4th.

We HAD 2 almost ripe strawberries in our patch at home yesterday (until I showed them to my 2 yr old who LOVES strawberries).
-
From our 10 plants we've had a total of 4 strawberries, two of which got eaten by animals (birds?). I put netting over them a couple days ago. This is the first year we've grown strawberries, and I just planted the plants a couple weeks ago, so I have no previous experience growing them.

I have picked 60 strawberries so far! This is the second year with my plants....I started with 8 plants..last year I only had 5 berries and the birds ate them!
