Title: Riverberry Farm Open For Strawberry Picking
Post by: Henry on June 15, 2011, 02:00:27 PM
The kids in the greenhouse the other day gave me some bad information - They told me they would not be picking until July 4th:

Hi,

We are now open for strawberry picking!!  The stand is open every day from 8 am to 6 pm.  The berries are organic, the picking is good and the weather is beautiful, so come on over.   The strawberry season is generally about 3 weeks long, so we'll be done picking just after the 4th of July.  We grow several different varieties which ripen at different times and respond differently to the weather.  The first berries to ripen on each variety are the biggest.

Pick your own berries are $2.75/lb.  (that is about 1/2 the  price of pre-picked.)
Pre-picked are $5.50/quart.
Flat of 8 pre-picked quarts is $38.50 (ie. one free quart).  Please call 2 days in advance if you're wanting 6 or more quarts of pre-picked.  Thanks.

The greenhouses still have plenty of bedding plants, organic herb and organic vegetable starts, though we are running low and out of some things.  Lots of perennials still.

Lettuce, asparagus, basil and eggs, all organic, in the cooler at the stand.  Sorry no spinach for another week or so.  It got shredded in the hail we had a couple weeks ago.

Hope to see you soon!
