I have also wondered why there were not move guardrails on river rd.  especially by the salvage yard on  this sharp corner and the corner on goosepond just up from the bridge.

You don't need guard rails if you follow the posted speed signs....which I guess will never happen in this town, especially on River Rd.

There should be more guard rails. It is possible to go off the road even at 35mph, don't kid yourself into thinking accidents only happen to those exceeding the speed limit. It's possibly the majority of the problem this time of year, but there are a number of reasons people go off the road--especially in winter. Chances are, if there were more rails up, fewer cars would go in the river.

I completely agree Mirjo!  I said the same thing to Dad about the guard rails should be there.  The road gets icy in the winter and if I have to go on River Road, I figure out how to skip that area.
