Title: Fireworks
Post by: LauriH on July 02, 2011, 04:14:17 PM
Are there any local fireworks?  We have decided not to fight the Burlington crowds this year.

Organized? Like everyone gathering to see fireworks set off on a hill somewhere? No.
There will be fireworks, but it's a free-for-all, with everyone firing stuff off in their backyards.
Three-four years ago, it sounded like London during the WWII Blitz, explosions everywhere.

A couple popped off when I was taking my walk down Hunt Street - They got a rise out of a couple of tennis players - I expect later tonight there will be more.

Smuggs has a wonderful show on Monday. The 40th Army Band plays before the fireworks. A very moving experience. Bring chairs, blanket and a picnic. There are usually several snack vendors as well.

A couple of places up on the Plains were shooting some off Saturday night. Margie and I went up and sat in the Country Pantry parking lot and watched. Somebody spent a lot of money. Those were nice fireworks. Expect more Sunday night.
