Dad, correct me if I am wrong, but Parson's store moved across the street before I was born (Vermont Food Ventures) and that was definitely the old Post Office (now Foothills) when i was a kid.

I'm just a tiny bit older MK and I have a vague recollection of Parsons being at this location and then moved across the road and the post office moved in; although I don't remember where the post office was before they moved there.

OK...I'm way older...The post office was accross the street.  Where food venture was..on the right side.  Parson's store just changed places.

I have a pretty good history of the Old Post Offices of Fairfax and actually if you were to say that the Post Office was in any one of the buildings remaining, you would probably be right.  If you click on the following link, you will find some photos and data on the Post Offices of Fairfax, perhaps even some you have never heard of:

I'm telling ya, and I haven't been there in a few months....years, decades.
Good memories.........

The PARSONs,  store I used to walk up to from Maple Street and the store was on my left.
It had a second story.

Then, after knocking down displays and re=setting them, I would , look across both ways prior to crossing that there Route, and get that caramel from Chet.

I would get my Olive LeMay's mail and the Luman's mail.

Old Chet...
You all have Mailboxes ETC now...

There was a Chet.

Never forget Chet.

Yes, Chan Cooley, the post master.  He always gave a Brachs caramel to kids when they went into the post office.  And later, when I would walk down with my dog, he also had dog biscuits, too.  My dog got very used to those biscuits.  He knew one was coming so he waited so patiently outside the door!
