Title: A Beautiful Day To Get My Handicap Ramp Stained
Post by: Henry on July 31, 2011, 11:12:15 AM
Had this handicapped ramp built back in 2003 by Brad Meunier.  Wood is now well seasoned and Rich Supernault came over last week and pressure washed it.  It cleaned up nicely, so contacted Brian Wiggins and John Simon to stain it for me.  It will need about 48 hours to dry before walking on it, so I will be using my front door.  These guys do a great job and work very well together.

The ramp is 4 foot wide and I have an enclosed 10 x 10 foot mudroom at the top that can be entered through a 42 inch door.  Mike Dugan designed it, so it meets all of the handicap requirements.  A real important thing that is often forgotten is the extra space inside the mudroom at the top so that wheel chairs can turn without hitting the walls, thus the 10x10 foot platform at the top.

Maryann got some great use out of it for 7 years, so that she could use her power chair to go in and out of the house on her own.

They did a great job!  They just got done building me a special split door for my breezeway and did the staining of my deck on the roof off my bedroom and one off of the upstairs of the garage.  They came out beautiful!  I will have to take some photos of the door so I can post.
