Title: Boston Globe Article
Post by: Dick Brown on August 07, 2011, 08:53:47 AM
Henry     For those baseball fans who don't read the Globe every day , either in hardcover form or on line , there is an excellent article in today's Sports Section written by Dan Shaugnessy ( not one of my favorite writers ) on the Sox-Yankees rivalry . Go to Boston.com/sports and scroll to his column if you're interested . Seven more regular season games left before AL playoffs ......good stuff coming , no matter which side wins the games .    Stay safe , my friend .

Yes, it was an excellent article. I haven't been getting the Sunday Boston Globe since the Steeple Market fire. I now only get it if there is a big story. I got the Sunday Globe after the Bruins won the Stanley Cup because they had a special section.

When you think of all the names that has graced the pages of the Boston Globe Sports, it really is a Who's Who of sports journalists. Peter Gammons, Lesley Visser, Leigh Montville, Kevin Paul Dupont, Bob Ryan, Francis Rosa, Dan Shaugnessy, Will McDonough, Bud Collins, to name a few.

Good point , Mike , and now there are two more coming along who are worth a read , Peter Abraham & Michael Vega , who along with Nick Carfado cover MLB in an excellent fashion . The Globe apparently thinks enough of them so they are allowed to produce articles not automatically endorsing the Red Sox .

Mike                      As you said earlier this summer , many non-Bruins fans but NHL advocates from both Vermont & Florida followed the Boston Team because of Tim Thomas . Down here Martin St. Louis of the Lightning made a lot of positive comments  concerning Tim and their  " buddy " years at UVM .  I remember the year that UVM played for the National Championship and the player from the winning team who put the decisive  goal in with his glove and the official who " never saw it " ???  UVM & Vermont knew who the  best team was and this year the best team in the NHL came out of Boston .
