St. Albans Police Department
On Saturday, August 20, 2011 at approximately 4:51 pm, St. Albans Police responded to a 2 vehicle head-on collision in the area of 1141 Fairfax Road on Route 104 in St. Albans Town, Vermont. Both St. Albans City, and St. Albans Town Fire Departments responded as well as Vermont State Police.
The accident occurred when 56 year old Peter Willey of Essex Jct., the operator and sole occupant of Vehicle #1 crossed the center line and crashed into Vehicle #2, which was being operated by 44 year-old Penny Rivers of Bakersfield, VT; Her vehicle was also occupied by her 7 year-old daughter. All three occupants of both vehicles were removed and transported from the scene by Am Care Ambulance Services and Enosburg Rescue Ambulance to Northwest Medical Center in St. Albans City, VT.
Mr. Willey was kept overnight for medical observation. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Persons with any information are encouraged to call St. Albans City Police Department at (802)524-2166.
