...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM SUNDAY TO 8 AM EDT
MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BURLINGTON HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM SUNDAY TO 8 AM EDT MONDAY.
THE HIGH WIND WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...VERMONT AND THE EASTERN SLOPES OF THE NORTHERN
ADIRONDACKS OF NEW YORK.

* HAZARDS...STRONG AND DAMAGING WINDS.

* WINDS...NORTH 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH.

* TIMING...STRONG WINDS WILL DEVELOP DURING THE LATE MORNING HOURS
ON SUNDAY AND CONTINUE SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT.

* IMPACTS...EXPECT DOWNED TREES WHICH MAY CAUSE DAMAGE...POWER
OUTAGES FROM FALLEN TREES OR POWER LINES...AND TRAVEL MAY BE DIFFICULT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED
OR OCCURRING. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH OR GUSTS
OF 58 MPH OR MORE CAN LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Here's a site I've been using to track Irene.  As of this writing, we're on the edge of the worst of it but I'd still rather see Irene head out to sea and go fishing! :)
