Title: Carmen Tarleton speaks at BFA-St. Albans
Post by: Henry on October 12, 2011, 07:49:47 AM
There was a good story yesterday on Carmen Tarleton, in the St. Albans Messenger, the lady who's husband doused her with lye - I understand that the students could see her, which even as an adult bothers me as I have never seen anyone so hideously disfigured.  Whenever the story has been on the news I always look away from the TV as it just bothers me terribly.  Hopefully, the students were given the choice of seeing, or just listening to her as I don't believe I could ever get the sight of such a tragic thing out of my mind.  Just my thoughts, but maybe I am a bit too sensitive.

Henry, I have the same problem. I don't do other people's injuries very well. That's why I am not on rescue.
I have trouble watching any segment concerning her on the news. And I kept the Messenger folded a certain way so I couldn't see her picture.
If that makes me a bad person, so be it.
I'm sorry for what she went through.
So, I guess we're in the same boat, Henry.

Thanks Mike, It makes me feel just a bit better that there are other people with the same feelings.

I either.

I even look away when there are injuries in football, on TV.

There is no need for me to see that kind of stuff.
