Title: River Berry Farm Closes At Sunset For The Season Halloween
Post by: Henry on October 24, 2011, 11:01:52 AM
Hi,

The farm stand at River Berry Farm closes for the season at sunset on Halloween.  Piles of great produce still.  This is still very much the harvest season and many crops get sweeter with the frosts.  Come on over and get in your last shopping of the season.  Here's an idea of what's in:  potatoes, onions, leeks, broccoli, pumpkins, winter squash, carrots, sweet and hot peppers, lettuce, arugula, garlic, radishes, beets, turnips, kale, collards, cabbage...  AND we do still have pick your own raspberries!  I know, weird huh?  It's been so mild.  There is definitely some reasonable picking.  Not gobs, but enough for dessert.

CSA members.  Do remember to use up your credit.  The idea is that you buy and use your credit up in one season.  It does not carry over unless you pay the full membership fee again next year.  We so appreciate your continued support!   We'll have next year's forms out somewhere near the start of the new year.  They are generally in some local stores such as Minors, Steeple Market, Nan's and Foothill Bakery or can be printed from the website, riverberryfarm.com.

And finally, the Storage Crop Order forms are in the stand or can be printed from the website, riverberryfarm.com.  If you have a good cold storage place, which maintains somewhere in the range of just above freezing to 45 degrees F. and is dark and dry, you can continue to eat locally through the winter.  You order whole cases at wholesale prices.  Order forms are due by Halloween.  Pick up date is Saturday, November 5th, noon - 4 p.m., at the farm stand.

As always, thank you, thank you for another great season.  We have now officially been here for 20 years!!
