Good Morning, Henry,
These 2 'tom' turkeys were wandering around on Snowcrest Rd on Monday.

Great photos !!  Forty years ago , it was unheard of to be able to see birds like this beside the road anywhere in Vermont , but especially away from Addison County .  I never found them to be very tasty though, and the texture seemed to be like a cereal box !!! Better to stick with the domestic breed , Henry !!

Mr. Brown,

I disagree...

My Dad in-law went on a hunt down in Wyoming America one year and brought back 2 wild turkey's.

He gave us one.

I popped mine in a brine overnight and smoked it the next day.

Maybe I was bias, but it was the best dern turkey I ever did have!

He roasted his and it was pretty good too.

Free Range and the Range they get to feed on, maybe!

Mike               I suspect that the brine was the difference .......maybe if I hadn't drunk the  "brine " and used it for cooking purposes , instead    ??????????
