Join Martha Manning of UVM Extension for WeDos and Literature! This fun program combines children's literature and the building of basic robots. Each week, kids work in teams of two to create a robotic model of a character in the featured story and then program it to move.  WeDos and Literature teaches basic science, engineering and literature skills in a fun, inquiry based program.  This program is a cooperative effort between UVM Extension 4-H and the Fairfax Community Library.  Enrollment limited to 12.  Call or email the library to sign up.   This program will be offered to homeschoolers and school students alike so sign up early!  No fee.

May 9   HERBAL CRAFT:  Make your own all natural Bug Spray using essential oils.  Take it home and use it this summer to keep away mosquitoes and black flies.  Please pre-register by calling or emailing the library by May 7.

June 13  BOOK GROUP!  We will read Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs and discuss what we liked, didn’t like, and more.  If you know anything about hippos, bring it!  Copies of the book are available at the library for you to borrow beginning on May 9th.  This book is on the 2011-12 DCF reading list.  Reading level is grade 5.6.  Interest level ages 8 – 12.
