Merle & Minnie lived on Sand Hill Road for a number of years until Merle died in 2010 - Raymond & Merlene Bolio lived up in Fletcher for a number of years.

Minnie J. (Balch) Crown

Vergennes - Minnie J. (Balch) Crown, 88, passed away on Sunday February 19, 2012.  She was born in Lunenburg, VT on October 25, 1923 daughter of the late Walter W. and Julia (Metcalfe) Balch.

She was married to Merle W. Crown October 5, 1945.  She graduated from McIndoes Academy, McIndoes Falls,VT class of 1942 and the Gifford Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Randolph, VT class of 1945.  Minnie became a registered nurse in Vermont working private duty and Volunteer Health Duty. She also worked at the former Weeks School Infirmary in Vergennes, VT.

She is survived by a daughter Merlene and husband Raymond Bolio of North Wolcott, VT;

A son William and wife Robin of Needham, MA;

Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren;

Several nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by her husband Merle on April 30, 2010, infant daughter Diana and son Wayne, sisters: Anna Louise, Martha, Ellen, Ruth and her brother William.

At Minnie’s request no public visiting hours will be held.  A private graveside service with burial in the family lot in Prospect Cemetery, Vergennes, VT will be held at the convenience of the family.  A celebration of Minnie and Merle’s lives will be held in Vergennes at a later date to be announced.  Arrangements are by A. W.
