Ellen (Coburn) Tilton - Waterville
Ellen Mary (Coburn) Tilton, 72 passed away Sunday March 4, 2007 at her home in Waterville surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 7, 1934 in Belvidere, VT daughter of the late Roger and Ida (Machia) Coburn. Ellen married Charles E. Tilton on November 20, 1952 in Johnson, VT. She had been employed with Cabot Creamery for several years. She was an appreciated member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary of Green Mountain Aires #3210 Jeffersonville as well as the American Legion Auxiliary Post 35 of Jeffersonville. Above all Ellen was a committed and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend dedicating her every day to the comfort and attention of her family. She was always there for everyone offering her unconditional love in times of need. Ellen will be greatly missed by all those who had the true pleasure to have known and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Charles Tilton of Cambridge; Her three sons: Orin Tilton and wife Debra of Fletcher, Jay Tilton and wife Lisa of Highgate and Ronald Tilton and wife Alicia of Waterville; Her daughter Kitty Tilton and companion Randy Benson, Sr. of Ludlow; Her brother Roger Coburn Jr. and wife Sandra of Johnson; and her sister Olive Mclean of Belvidere. Fourteen grandchildren; Michelle T. Frennier, Michael Tilton, Jason Tilton, Christopher Tilton, Joshua Tilton, Jennifer Tilton, Jared Anderson, Chelsea Anderson, Amelia Tilton, Lyle Tilton, Lydia Tilton, Ellabea Tilton, Nathaniel Tilton and Sadiejane Tilton; Three great-grandchildren; Jayden Tilton, Jazmine Tilton and Emma Anderson. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also predeceased by her son Scott Tilton in 1963 and her sister June Giddings.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday March 9, 2007 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Waterville Union Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 10, 2007 at the Waterville Union Church at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Jan Rathbun officiating. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery Waterville.
