Title: BFA Concert.
Post by: Rev. Elizabeth on May 24, 2012, 06:34:11 AM
Last night the high school chorus and band presented  a truly amazing final concert of the year. It was also a splendid tribute to Bruce MacRae who has taught instrumental music and led bands at BFA for 39 years.

I have to say I was most impressed with the beauty and complexity of the music the chorus, and elite chorus presented.  Rather than pull out old traditional songs that have always been done, they presented 4 and --yes--five part songs, often a capella, that were as enchanting as they were difficult.
Much praise is to be given to the choir instructor ( whose name I embarrassedly don't know!!!)  for  her gifts and talents, and to the young people who sang so delightfully.  Thank you. May music forever prosper at BFA.

I wish this event had been advertised to the community at large and not just within the school.
I would have loved to attend, especially to wish Mac a fond farewell and thanks for all he has done for our kids.
Please feel free to  bring announcements of these events to the PO.
We have a bulletin board for just such occasions and people do read them.
Glad to hear it was an evening of musical talent showcased.
