Lee Buik-Denizot, 60, of Fairfax is in critical condition with multiple internal injuries after her car crashed Tuesday on Interstate 89 just north of exit 16, Vermont State Police said.
Cpl. Dan Kerin said Buik-Denizot was in a 2002 Saturn sedan at about 10:10 a.m. when she lost control and the vehicle traveled across the breakdown lane and off the right side of the road.
Buik-Denizot, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car as it rolled over several times, Kerin said. She was treated at the scene and later transported by Colchester Rescue to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. She underwent emergency surgery and remains in the intensive care unit, Kerin said.
