Title: Going To Breathe In Some Fresh Air
Post by: Henry on July 01, 2012, 06:41:23 PM
Decided to shut the air conditioner off and open my windows - Now I am going to go out and sit under my big Maples in my front lawn - I love the rural area.

There wasn't a bug around and I waved back to a lot of people I did not know who they were as they went by and waved to me.  Also reminisced to myself about the many evenings Maryann and I would sit out in the front yard and enjoy the peace and quiet after we were both retired.  I was speaking to a young man just last night who moved here in 2006.  His brother had moved here in 2001 and another brother and two sisters have also moved here to Fairfax.   Kind of tells you what a nice little town Fairfax is.  When my family came up here in 1954 and looked at the little 75 acre farm my Dad bought, we just knew this was where we wanted to live and they spent the rest of their lives here.  I married a Fairfax Girl and we were married just 6 weeks shy of 50 years before she passed away.  My youngest sister and I and my youngest daughter have no plans to live elsewhere.  We all make different choices, Thank God, otherwise Fairfax would not be the small little town that it is.

I don't live in Fairfax, but have visited many times as Henry (uncle), Theresa (aunt) and Agnes (mom) are obviously relatives. Every time I drive through Fairfax, someone is waving to me. Not sure if they actually know who I am or just know that I'm a Raymond or think I'm my mother (as people tell me we look very much alike), but what I do know is Fairfax is without a doubt the friendliest town I know.

I love living here! And like my father I enjoy the evening out on the porch.  My porch is in the back where I see nothing but farm land and the sky.  Nothing better to help you relax after a busy day and appreciate all the beauty Vermont has to offer!
