Although I don't respond to the Library postings very often , it is a point of pride for me that we were able to accomplish the organization and structure " back in the day " which transformed a small town library and the limited school library at that time into a Community Library which has provided a terrific base of operation for both BFA and the town residents alike for 39 years . The support from the community, which included leadership and financial basics from the many School Boards and Selectmen , interesting ideas from Marnie , Joy and Sharon ( all of which were unafraid to argue their point with those who were their superiors ) and also benefited from Louise McArdle's vision back in 1970 . The current Library staff certainly has not let this writer down and remains very much in the center of meeting the needs of our community .
This time of the year ( when maintenance plans called for cleaning the Library , refinishing the gym floor , completing classroom structures for teachers and students alike ) always gave me an excitement and anticipation for the coming school year . Good luck to all in 2012-13 .
