Charles "Chuck" Boylan
(October 1, 1952 - August 22, 2012)
FAIRFIELD – Charles D. “Chuck” Boylan, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
He was born on October 1, 1952 in St. Albans the son of the late Neil & Barbara Mae (Real) Boylan.
Chuck attended schools in Highgate and Fairfield. He was employed at Swanton Packing for 25 years prior to working at Brannon’s in Fairfield for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Fairfield Fire Dept., Green Mountain Bass Masters, and was the Co-founder and President of the Lake Champlain Bass Masters.
Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing & hunting, 4-wheeling, and shooting bow having broken the world record for shooting bow for 24 hours straight to benefit Cystic Fibrosis. He also enjoyed playing cards, watching NASCAR with his favorite driver being Kyle Busch, and plowing snow. Most important to Chuck was his family whom he played Santa for every Christmas and held many family gatherings at his home. He especially loved to spend countless hours with his grandchildren and his faithful companion, Angel.
He is survived by his wife, Connie (Tinker) Boylan of Fairfield. Chuck & Connie were married on November 8, 1970. He is also survived by his children, Joddie & Sherry Boylan of East Fairfield, Doddie “Beaver” Boylan & Chris Robinson of Sheldon, and Charles “Chunk” Boylan & Lesleigh Costello of Milton; his beloved grandchildren, Chelsea “Poop” & Colton “Boy” Boylan, Cody, Lindsey & Hunter Robinson, and Karleigh “Grasshopper” & Dylan Costello; his siblings, Jeannie Boylan and her fiancée, Ken Charland, of Champlain, N.Y., Jackie Quilliam and husband, Mike, of Swanton, Michael Boylan and wife, Jeanette, of Littleton, N.H., Susie Sabourin and husband, John, of Fairfield, Robert “Frank” Boylan and wife, Liz, of E. Fairfield, Pam Gratton and her fiancée, Hobie Gates, of Bakersfield, Patty Hall and husband, Ron, of Swanton, and Steven Boylan and wife, Sheri, of Highgate; his half-sister, Betty Clapper of Georgia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; his “Favorite Son”, Casey O’Brien; his Godson, Corey “Squirt” Gratton; many good friends including, his sugaring buddies, Bill Fairchild & Jim Oliver; and Angel. Besides his parents, Chuck was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Ann Boylan.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 116 Church Road, Fairfield with Rev. William Giroux celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 4-7PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
