Title: A Remarkable Lady Celebrates Her 100th Birthday March 30, 2007
Post by: Henry on March 27, 2007, 09:22:35 AM
Hi All,

On March 30, 1907, Esther Kearney was born here in Fairfax at home at 275 Carroll Hill Road.  A special thanks to Nat Worman, St. Albans Messenger for allowing me to put this article up on my forum as well as letting me use a photo he took of her at her home at (I will give you her address, just in case you would like to send her a birthday card -- Her daughter Mary McClintock says she just loves cards and reads them over and over:

Mrs. Esther Kearney
3 Cathedral Square Apt # 1M
Burlington, Vermont 05401

In addition to Nat Worman's story, Esther has a photograph of one of the old traverse horse drawn barges in front of the Win McNall farm on Route 104 at the intersection of The Austin Road.

And that's not all, David Shea went over and took a photo of the house she was born in as it stands today.

You and I are indeed very fortunate that so many wonderful people share with you and I.

Nat Worman also did a video which is about twenty minutes long and the St. Albans Messenger has it up on their web site if you click on Messenger TV.  Unfortunately, Dan, the webmaster down at the Messenger is having a slight problem with it and it only has sound for the first 30 seconds.  He sent me a note yesterday and will get it fixed as soon as he can.  Those of you that have DSL should have no problem watching this video and I am sure you will find it very interesting.
