Hi,
We're finally open your pick-your-own fall raspberries at River Berry Farm. The picking is a little light now but should get heavier in a week or so and continue to hard frost. The berries are $4.50/lb.
We're coming into THE harvest season, where summer and fall crops overlap in bounty. At the stand now are: sweet corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, onions, leeks, garlic, potatoes, carrots, eggplant, cabbage, kale, collards, zucchini, summer squash....hmmm what am I forgetting. Well, there's plenty to fill your belly. Eggs continue to be sparse, our apologies. Too much predator wildlife traffic being so close to the river...
CSA Members reminder: Please remember to try to use up your credit by the time the stand closes for the season on Halloween. There is no carry-over of credit to the next year, unless you join again by paying the full membership.
We will be offering cases of fall storage crops at wholesale prices again this year. The sign-up forms will be in the stand in the beginning of October and the pick-up date will be the first Saturday in November.
Happy Eating!
Thanks for all your support,
Jane, David and the crew at
River Berry Farm
