A winter storm warning will remain in effect for much of Vermont until 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service in Burlington.
Warnings predicted snowfalls of anywhere between 5 and 10 inches. Western Chittenden, Grand Isle and Western Addison counties were under winter weather advisories, with snowfall accumulations expected of between 4 and 8 inches expected.
A heavy, wet snowfall overnight produced locally hazardous road conditions in many areas. Several accidents were reported in Franklin and Chittenden counties after 6:30 a.m.
An accident on Westford Road, near Old Stage Road, in Milton has tied up traffic on Westford Road, according to Milton dispatchers.
Dispatchers say commuters should avoid traveling on Westford Road.
Further details on the accident, which happened at about 6:30 a.m., were not available.
