FAIRFAX, VT / SAN PIERRE, IN -- Jane Marie (Berthiaume) Garner, 63, died Tuesday evening; April 10, 2007, at the Fletcher-Allen Health Care in Burlington, following a lengthy illness, with her loving family at her side. She was born August 14, 1943, in St. Albans, Vermont, daughter of the late Louis “Edward” Berthiaume and Lillian Doris (Guyette) Berthiaume.

Jane attended BFA-Fairfax and for many years made her home in San Pierre, Indiana where she raised her family. Upon returning to Fairfax in 2002, she was employed as a waitress at Nana’s Restaurant in St. Albans. Jane especially enjoyed her time spent on the Berthiaume Family Farm with gardening and farming. She also enjoyed horses, animals, yard sales, and bird watching.

On June 12, 1976, she married Eugene M. Garner in Hobart, Indiana.

In addition to her loving husband, Jane is survived her five children: Rodney Province and his wife, Tena of Fairfax, Greg Province of San Pierre, Indiana, Tracy Province of Arizona Jeff Province and his wife, Tabitha of Rensselaer, Indiana, and Penny Rozhon and husband, Larry of San Pierre, Indiana, her five step-children: Rick Garner of Crown Point, Indiana, Ron Garner and wife, Cathy of Bluffton, Indiana, Tim Garner and wife, Pam of California, Tom Garner and wife, Betsy of Georgia, Dan Garner of Rhode Island, her sisters: Nancy Rivera and her husband, Daniel of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Gail Stafford and her husband, Morris of Fairfax, her brothers: Lee Berthiaume of Fairfax, Walter Berthiaume and his wife, Diane of Fairfax and Neil Berthiaume and his wife, Carol of Fairfax, seventeen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several aunts and uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at the convenience of Jane’s family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 121 Connor Way, Suite 240, P.O. 1460; Williston, VT 05495-1460. Arrangements are by Lucien Hayes of the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans, VT
