MARTHA L. AUER
SHELTON, Conn. - Martha L. Auer, age 82, of Shelton, formerly of Fairfield, Conn., Trumbull, Conn., and Milton, passed away on Oct. 29, 2012, in the Apple Health Care Center, Shelton, Conn. She was born in Alliance, Ohio, on Sept. 30, 1930, the daughter of Eli and Opal Stanley (Gossiaux). Martha held a Masters Degree in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University, where she met several dear and lifelong friends. She worked as a Librarian for many years in the Fairfield Public School System, including Fairfield High School, Joel Barlow High School, the Fairfield Public Library and Fairfield University. She also worked at Colchester High School, Colchester, for 13 years, until her retirement in 2005. Ms. Auer is survived by her children, Karen Bates and her husband, Robert of Fairfax, Joseph Auer and his wife, Georgia, of Caseville, Mich., and Robert Auer of Easton, Conn.; as well as grandchildren, Sara Perry, and Rebecca and J.J. Auer; her great-grandchildren; and her former husband, Joseph Auer of Del Ray Beach, Fla. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, Conn.
