PRISCILLA E. WARD
FAIRFAX — Priscilla E. Ward, 74, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, April 12, 2007, in her home with her loving husband and son Wally at her side. She had been in declining health for a number of years. Priscilla was born in St. Johnsbury on Feb. 3, 1933, the daughter of Clifford (George) and Helen (Wallace) Cutting. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1951. On Dec. 19, 1953, she married Robert Ward and spent the next several years doing what she considered to be her most important job, as a nurturing mother to her three children. They lived for several years on Baker Lane in Milton, eventually settling in Fairfax. She was happiest in the company of her family. After her children were grown she decided it was time to try a job outside the home and she spent 14 years, at Suzanne's Hallmark at the University Mall, greeting customers with her welcoming smile. She was a popular figure with her ever- present bun on the top of her head, which earned her the nickname “Aunt Bea“. Priscilla was always ready to socialize and she had a keen sense of humor with a ready laugh. She was a concerned friend and often went out of her way to make sure their needs were met. She and her husband were constant companions, attending church regularly, and have been members of the Elks Club, VFW, American Legion, Moose Lodge, and the Regular Veterans Association. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert, and by their three children and their families; daughter,VickiLynn Centerbar, her husband, Jay and their daughters, Hayley and Whitney of Huntington; son, Wallace Ward and his son, Isaac Girouard of Burlington; and son, Andrew Ward, his wife Marcy and their children Andrew, Allison, Daniel and Joseph of Evansville, Ind. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Cutting of Con- necticut; and by several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her sister, Betty Sargent and brother-in-law Gordon Sargent, and sister-in-law Frances Cutting. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 16, at 10 a.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church in St. Albans. Burial will follow in the Milton Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 372 Hurricane Lane, Suite 101, Williston, VT 05495, as Priscilla struggled with asthma for most of her life. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home on Route 7 in Milton.[/b]
