All are welcome to join Stephen Payne, local author and fourth-generation Vermonter, in a lively discussion about his new book Cliff Walking. Stephen will also be talking about the writing process. A lifelong writer, he has published fiction, non-fiction and poetry in a number of publications including Vermont Life magazine, the Tufts Review, The Vermont Literary Review, Livin’ the Vermont Way magazine and Route 7- Vermont Literary Journal.
Payne's debut novel, Cliff Walking, developed in part from his experiences both as a former police officer and for the last 28 years as a surgeon caring for victims of spousal and child abuse. It is a unique blending of an intense and tender love story with a realistic portrayal of the hard realities of domestic abuse. Books will be available for purchase. A portion of proceeds is donated to Prevent Child Abuse Vermont.
