I am looking at what people of this community would be interested in going into the spot where the video store was. I may invest in that spot.
-
I and many others have talked about a pizza/sub shop, esp. one that delivers...
-
... And with seating. There's no where in town to grab a quick pizza or sandwich in the late afternoon/evening and sit and eat it. By the time I get anything home from town it's soggy or cold.
-
Paint your own pottery would give the kids something to do. The one in Stowe closed after many years.
gift shop with the ability to buy gift cards
Quality consignment shop
Used sports equipment
Starbucks
Pie in the Sky
Art Gallery with local art
yoga classes/tae kwon do/paintball/lazwe tag
Rent out booths for people to sell their arts and crafts
These are just a few off the top of my head

pizza and a beer.mmmmmmmmmmmm
-
Get a subway to come in.
-
Good quality Chinese take out.

Good quality Chinese take out.
I would love a Chinese restaurant!!!!!
-
A Chinesse restaurant or take out would be great
-
The CP has come and gone several times with essentially the same menu and varying degrees of quality. No one has ventured to REALLY change things up there. As a result I would love to see something new and different in town, someone take a chance and do a quality, hand tossed, with homemade dough pizza and sub shop. If the Skinny Pancake in Burlington can make a killing on local ingredients and crepes, we have enough local providers here in Fairfax, that someone ought to be able to make a year round go of it with a similar philosophy using pizza.
A chinese place would not be bad, but not American Chinese food. Something more traditional, perhaps just noodles...
I also like the idea of a quality consignment shop. Though i am partial to pizza and like Rod, Pizza and beer would rock!
-
A consignment shop would be nice............. & I love Chinese also.
-
If it is a food-type place, make sure there is delivery service available.
Chinese would be excellent. The pizza/subs idea would be my second choice.
-
Deli would be great, delivery even better!
-
Didn't a pizza place try to work before with delivery in the commons? Many years ago or am I just dreaming. Delivery would be the key as all the local stores provide deli and pizza already.
-
We've got pizza at Minor's Country Store, Steeple Market and Nan's.
Other pizza places in bigger towns have convenient pick-up.
And, yes, there was a pizza place there years back.
Chinese has possibilites, but Fairfax has lots of food places per capita.
Along with the three stores mentioned above, we have the Country Pantry to sit down and dine.
Eastmans and Foothills have more good food.
We're too small for Subway or any other franchise.
Gift shop, gift cards, next door at the Fairfax Pharmacy.
Pottery, artsy-craftsy, interesting.
my 2 cents.

Too bad the space wasn't big enough for a Gym
-
What might our high school students/college students want? I know you can get take out pizza in town, but I also know that going out to have pizza, etc, sitting down with friends and socializing is not available at those take out places....
-
please get Chinese. that would be amazing.
-
A gym WOULD be great to have in town! But I know the space is not big enough :-(
-
How about a cool little coffee house?
-
A gaming store! :-D Board games, role playing, video games, etc...
-
A pub.
Pizza & burgers. Wood. Conversation.
A game on, but just one or two screens, and not loud. Or a local musician in the corner.
(Either that or a Thai restaurant)
-
Like your idea, Norton!!!
-
What Norton said! Every community needs a little pub/cafe/coffee house with evening hours and seating.
-
Hoping on the Norton bandwagon...like that idea
-
Artisan Brewery satelite Alchemist Franchise - makign strictly Heady Topper!
-
I'm all for the pub/cafe/coffee house as well!
-
looks like someone is up there working on the place....
-
I don't need one now, but I wonder if a laundromat might not save some locals some travel time and gas.
-
I'm with Norton also...
-
A good Pizza place . we have pizza in town but none of it is really that great and most go out of town for their pizza. I think a New York style pizza place would be great .
-
Chinese, Vietnamese , or Tsai restaurant...we don't need pizza or sub...any good restaurant with good food is really needed.
-
Thanks for all the input. The septic capacity and parking will not support most of the sugestions and the others are not feasable with the cost of the lease. I do hope the resturant in town has read this blog. I believe that location has a better infrastructure.
