Detective Sergeant Walt Smith, Vermont State Police, B Troop, 802-748-3111 Hardwick, VT– 1/7/13 – Officials with Union Bank are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the bank robbery at the Union Bank located in Hardwick, VT on September 6, 2012. Vermont State Police detectives with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation continue follow up on leads and investigate this case.
At approximately 1:13PM on September 6, 2012, the Vermont State Police received a call from the Hardwick Police Department regarding a robbery at the Union Bank located at 103 VT Rte. 15 in Hardwick, VT. Members of the Vermont State Police were dispatched immediately to assist in the search for the suspect. Subsequently, detectives with the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded to continue the on-going investigation.
The Vermont State Police and Hardwick Police Department encourage the community to please come forward with any information. If you have information regarding this case please contact the Vermont State Police at the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.

PRESS RELEASE Robbery at Union Bank in Hardwick, Vermont

Hardwick, VT– On Thursday, September 6 at approximately 1:13PM, the Vermont State Police received a call from the Hardwick Police Department regarding a robbery at the Union Bank located at 103 VT Rte. 15 in Hardwick, VT. Members of the Vermont State Police were dispatched immediately to assist in the search for the suspect. Subsequently, detectives with the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded to continue the on-going investigation.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers learned that a lone white male entered the bank and approached a teller. The unidentified male demanded money through a note indicating the suspect had a gun. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was seen leaving the scene on foot headed south from the bank towards the Rite Aid. A firearm was not displayed and no one was harmed as a result of the robbery.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, with brown hair, a brown hoodie, large sunglasses and a blue Boston Red Sox ball cap. For more details, see the attached surveillance photos.
The Vermont State Police and Hardwick Police Department encourage the community to please come forward with any information. If you have information regarding this case please contact the Vermont State Police at the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.
No further information is available, at this time, as the investigation is on-going. When more information becomes available, the state police will issue an update.
