WOW!! Just around the corner from my parents house.  I used to do haying for (I believe) it was Harolds nephew Mike Hanson.

But, here is the alert I got on it.

At approx. 11:50, Fairfax Fire toned for a confirmed barn fire on Rt.
104 near the St. Albans Town line. St. Albans Town, St. Albans City,
Georgia, called for mutual aid. Swanton called to cover St. Albans
City with 1 engine, and Cambridge called to cover Fairfax station with
1 engine and 1 tanker. AmCare also responded to assist Fairfax Rescue
on another call and fire scene coverage.

Channel 3 News reported tonight:  In news Around the Region ... fire destroyed a Fairfax Barn late this morning. The North Main street Barn was completely engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived just before noon. The building was NOT part of an operating farm and was being used for storage. About 40 firefighters battled the blaze, which spread to a near by pasture. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The St. Albans Messenger reported that the barn belonged to Pat and Cathleen Keough.  Dave St. Pierre took a lots of photos that appear in the weekend edition.  Geez Dave, you almost wiped out the article that Nat wrote about me.  They were however able to squeeze a little photo down at the bottom of the front page though.

Fire destroys dairy barn in Fairfax

Free Press Staff Report

April 21, 2007
Free Press Staff Report FAIRFAX -- A late morning fire, sparked by a faulty electrical system, engulfed an old dairy barn Friday.

The storage barn at 2187 Main St., owned by Patrick Keogh, caught fire about 11:30 a.m., but by the time fire crews from five departments responded, the blaze had taken down most of the building. No people or livestock were injured, and the building held only old paint and a riding lawnmower, said Fairfax Assistant Fire Chief Justin Hayes.

The barn was a total loss, said Hayes. The fire spread to surrounding brush and scorched about 2 acres around the barn. Fire crews worked until nearly 4 p.m. to control the grass fires, Hayes said.[/b]
