Forty years ago Tuesday evening will mark the anniversary of the tornado that touched down in Fairfax. The date was June 11, 1973. It was a Monday evening around 8:30pm. it was very quick, but the memories of those that were living in Fairfax at that time, will last forever. I so remember that!!!
We as neighborhood children in the village of Fairfax were dispatched by our parents to clean up branches and small trees.
I have never heard such a sound in my life as I did that night.
I was a terrified 10 year old that night.
