CARMYN E. CHASTENAY
OCALA, Fla. — Carmyn E. Chastenay, 95, of Ocala, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in the Legacy Hospice House, Ocala, Fla.
She was born in Fairfax on Nov. 21, 1917, daughter of the late Levi and Grace (Bushey) Meunier, she moved to Ocala in 2000, from Williston. Carmyn was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala, and a member of RSVP Volunteer for 10 years at Fanny Allen Hospital in Colchester. She was a retired division manager for Sears, Roebuck & Co. in South Burlington. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was also preceded in death by her three siblings, Foster Blondin, Anne Marie Cooper, and Sister Mary Magdalen; grandsons, Michael Sinclair, and Brian Sinclair; and daughter-inlaw, Christine Sinclair. Her husband of 50 years, Edward O. Chastenay (born Sept. 11, 1921, in Burlington) also preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2012. He was a retired brick mason and a decorated, disabled W.W.II Navy veteran.
Carmyn and Edward are survived by their children, Philip Sinclair of Grand Isle, Fla., Hugh and Lorraine Sinclair, Sandra Smith and Gary Huddleston, and Judy and Mark Daly, all of Ocala, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 8:30 a.m., followed by committal at the Florida National Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.hiers-baxley.com.
