Anatol Furman of Jericho, Vermont, formerly of Natick Massachusetts, died on August 2, 2013.
I was born on Friday, May 13, 1932, in Waterbury, Connecticut, of honored parents Nicholas and Bertha (Ghent) Furman, and first breathed the glorious air of Vermont the following June. I am survived by my loving and beloved wife Ruth Anne; two wonderful children, Natalie Patricia Furman of Chipley, Florida, and Geoffrey Giles Furman of Rush, New York, of whom I am justifiably proud; and three grandchildren, Hardy and Nadia Kent of Chipley, Florida; and Sarina Furman of Rush, New York. I was predeceased by my parents; by my brother, Lee (Leron), of Sarasota, Florida; and by a sister, Deanna (Furman) Smyser of Richardson, Texas. My ashes will be interred along with my parents and my brother in the village cemetery in Roxbury, Vermont where I spent many happy childhood years.
I attended Natick High School; served in Korea in 1950-52; and graduated from the University of Massachusetts.
I hope to be best remembered for stepping up to and accepting the many responsibilities that a full life offers. I took care of my aging parents thru their last years; saw to it that my children graduated form university, and helped them start their own lives. All my other accomplishments are trivial by comparison.
There will be no visitation. Interment for family only.
For my friends, and for all those who have loved me, there are only fond memories. I invite you to share yours with me by visiting www.awrfh.com.
Well friends, it’s time to go.
