A portion of Salmon’s words were directed to attending Franklin County lawmakers, who will vote July 11 as to whether to override current Gov. Jim Douglas' veto of a bill that would expand a conservation program and pay for it by imposing a new tax on Vermont Yankee.
“Vermont Yankee has lived up to every one of its contractual obligations to the state of Vermont,” Salmon said. “In Vermont, we don’t break contracts entered into in good faith. That is not the Vermont way. That will never be the Vermont way.
