Title: Simpson's Hometown Is Springfield, Vermont
Post by: Henry on July 11, 2007, 07:05:58 AM
Well, the votes are in and Springfield, Vermont is the winner - Yes, I voted for Springfield, Vermont, but strickly for the state recognition and it had nothing to do with the Simpsons who I can't stand, or worse yet Tim Kavanagh who is the host of Late Night Saturday.  I do watch the show sometimes on Saturday night, but it is soooooooo bad.

Was talking with my oldest daughter last night who is an avid fan of The Simpsons.  She explained to me that it is a "Generation Thing."

I voted for Vermont as well.  I am not a big fan of the show, but will watch it occasionally.  As for Tim Kavanagh, I worked with him when I was helping out with a friends show (Survey Says) on Burlington Public Televison, and believe it or not he is nothing like the "characters" he plays on TV.

Yes Dad, it is a generation thing.  I love the Simpson's too and for it to be in Springfield, VT is perfect.  I mean VT Yankee nuclear plant is just down the road even and that is where Homer works :-)

I think it is wonderful for the town; as revenue will be created due to them being "The Springfield" of the Simpsons.

Not too fond of his TV show BUT Tim does make a good Homer though.
