Hi All,
I missed my IBM meeting yesterday to attend the Senior Citizens Luncheon which is held each first and third Tuesday of the month. Had a nice crowd and Marion Eastman & Alberta Clokey served a delicious meal as usual. We had hamburgers, 3 bean salad, macaroni & tuna salad, pickles, beverages and a choice of homemade chocolate cream or banana cream pie.
I do so enjoy going to these luncheon meetings and Joyce Barkyoumb does a fantastic job as President. The community has been great to us also. John Workman gave a special invitation to the Seniors for th open house from 3 to 6 p.m. this Thursday for the Dedication when Governor Douglas will be there. Sam from the Country Pantry will provide food for the event. Everyone was told that irregardless of whether they are interested in buying or not, it would be nice for them to see what a nice community it is right in the growth development section of town and how well it is designed.
Not sure that they will be able to do this, but they certainly have a nice community room up there, if the kitchen were large enough that would make a great place for the Seniors to meet and have their luncheons.

Joyce also mentioned that the Fairfax Community Theater had invited all the seniors for a free showing tonight of Cotton Patch Gospel. Many of our seniors live on a very limited income and that was certainly a nice gesture by the Fairfax Community Theater to do this. I believe this is their Dress Rehearsal tonight. I don't remember the time, but suspect it is around 7:30 p.m.
From time to time area businesses also donate food that Marion Utilizes in the preparation of her meals which Seniors pay $4 for. The combined meeting and meal usually start around 11:45 and usually end shortly after 1 p.m.
Dues are only a couple bucks a year and it certainly is a nice affordable meal out with some great company a couple times a month.[/b]
