On 7/17/14 at 03:30hr VSP Troopers from the St Albans Barracks responded to mm 111 on Interstate 89 southbound in Georgia for a reported vehicle vs Moose crash. The crash investigation revealed that a 2003 BMW 325 was travelling south on I89 in the travel lane. The vehicle then collided with a moose as it attempted to cross the interstate. The initial impact caused extensive damage to the front end of the vehicle and also caused the roof of the vehicle to collapse onto the operator. The vehicle then crossed the median and both lanes of travel of the northbound side of I89 .The vehicle finally crashed into a section of guard rail on the northbound side of I89. The male operator identified as Edward Grossman had to extracted by Georgia Fire due to the severe damage. Grossman was transported by AM CARE to NWMC for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
